Some of Our Favorite Hip-Hop Projects of 2012

With 10 days left and new projects still releasing it is always very hard to do a “Top List” like this for any genre of music. Even though you will always find someone to say it collectively NO ONE has listened to EVERYTHING. Not that it’s impossible it just doesn’t happen normally.

So Check out some of our Favorite Projects of 2012. We are not deeming them to be the BEST works of they year but we will acknowledge that these are the projects that were rocked the most!

Rick Ross “Rich Forever” – Now, I don’t think any of us were Rick Ross fans but it was truly hard to Deny this body of work. This even got The Captain anticipating the album. Definitely turned the corner with Rich Forever

Meek Mill “Dreamchasers 2/ Dreams and Nightmares” – WOW! I don’t think I was more impressed by the rise of any other artist than Meek Mill. He definitely lived up to the street hype and he has absolutely the BEST INTROS IN HIP-HOP/RAP MUSIC

NAS “Life Is Good” – Long Story short. I feel this is the best album of 2012! Def Jam, Nas and Hip-Hop all won when this released.

Action Bronson “Rare Chandeliers” Really liked this joint as a whole. Even though you hear the Ghostface similarities its obvious he is doing his own thing and that needs to be respected.

Kendrick Lamar “Good Kid M.A.A.D City” Although when it dropped no one gave you a chance to not like the album. Matter fact you were deemed disrespectful and unable to talk about hip-hop if you didn’t like. Albeit extreme people had a point…Guess now we are waiting to see just how classic this album is.

Big Sean “Detroit” – Once again….WOW! Talk about 180! After this dropped I got to say…if you dont like Big Sean…You’re A Hater!

GOOD Music “Cruel Summer” – Well…I feel the number 1 song of the year is on this album…and that is always a G.O.O.D Start. Overall I think this project made other Clique’s think twice before they drop these type of albums.

Mikkey Halsted “Castro” – Although the world stopped for Chief Keef they should have Zeroed in on this guy right here! I think this is the best 100% CHICAGO Product that was produced this year
